At Judylynnart, we believe in the transformative power of watercolor painting. Our gallery showcases the beauty of nature and the spirit of humanity through captivating landscapes and heartfelt portraits.
Watercolor is my connection to the world around me. Next to the love of my family, watercolor painting keeps me actively learning and socially engaged in my community. As a member and volunteer at several local arts councils, I believe art enhances healthy living for everyone. With my Bachelor of Arts degree in studio art/art history, my studies at the Art Students’ League in New York City, and my experience teaching adults at our local community college and children’s art in public and private schools, my experience is quite varied. As a Navy veteran myself, active-duty Navy wife for 30 years and now retired, I have a strong sense of commitment to my country and community. Art is part of life; we are all creative beings. Watercolor is a spontaneous process that requires some planning, and the outcome is always unexpected! The colors are transparent and opaque, staining and lifting, pure and mixed, which brings about various reactions on the various types of surfaces upon which watercolor can be used. I love the texture in landscapes and the softness of skin tones. Watercolor painting is visible proof that we can learn to meet challenges and grow through them with encouragement and support, whatever life brings. The practice of watercolor allows me to paint, and my viewers to explore the beauty of nature through my landscapes and the character of the people in our lives through my portraits. I hope to inspire others to see what I see in our world, limitless possibilities to experience the vitality of life.
